While the word dangers of toxins sound horrific, most people don’t understand exactly how toxins interfere with human physiology and how long this has been a human issue. Quick two hundred years ago, scientists found that pollutants such as mercury triggered “mad hatter disease.” Yet those toxins were largely limited to workplace contact in the past.
Toxins can and do impact any aspect of the body in a detrimental way. Bad memory and concentration, irrational behavior, word confusion, mood disorders, vomiting, vertigo, and cravings have harmful effects on the brain. Toxic brain conditions are also related to increased behavioral deterioration, as a consequence of substance misuse. Common toxins can be absorbed through the skin (for example when rubbing in a cream), ingested (when eating or drinking), or inhaled (when breathing)
How Toxins Are Damaging Our Bodies
1. Toxins Cause Damage To Organs
Toxins destroy virtually every organ and system that you have. When your digestive tract, liver, and kidneys are so toxic that they can not detoxify efficiently, otherwise your detoxification will backfire and your body will be exposed to the dangers of toxins.
2. Toxins Displace Mineral Structure
For lifelong mobility, people must maintain healthy bone mass. There is a two-fold effect when toxins displace the calcium present in the bone: weaker skeletal structures and increased toxins, released by bone loss, which circulates throughout the body.
3. Toxins Poison Enzymes
Our bodies are the motors for the enzymes. Each physiological function relies on enzymes to produce molecules, generate energy, and build cellular structures. Toxins disrupt enzymes and thus weaken countless body functions — inhibiting, for example, the production of hemoglobin in the blood, or reducing the body’s ability to resist free-radical damage that accelerates aging.
4. Toxins Cause Damage To DNA
Many commonly used pesticides, phthalates, improperly detoxified estrogens, and DNA-damaging benzene products.
5. Toxins Cause Damage To The Cell Membranes
Signaling “happens in the cell membranes in the body. Damage to these membranes prevents them from receiving important messages — insulin that does not, for example, signal the cells to absorb more sugar, or muscle cells that do not respond to magnesium to relax.
6. Toxins Do Impair The Ability To Detoxify
It is harder to do when you are really exposed to the dangers of toxin and really need to detoxify than when you are not toxic. In other words, right when you really need your detox systems (to address health problems), your hard-working detox system will most likely perform below par. Why? For what? Since your already carrying heavy toxic load has exceeded your detox capability. That’s Okay. The more toxins your body is burdened with, the greater the damage to the detoxification pathways of your body.
That’s why restoring your detox organs — and your detox pathways with them — is such an important task (and why I’ve dedicated a whole book to the subject — The Toxic Solution). The net effect is you can then remove toxins easily from your body.
Ways to Help Your Body Against the Dangers of Toxins
Detoxification is about resting, cleansing, and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health through a range of methods including yoga, meditation, and more.
- Eat plenty of food, including brown rice and fresh fruits and vegetables grown organically. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and marine algae are great food detoxifiers.
- Drink at least two-quarters of water a day, making our 32 oz easy to carry. Always bring a bottle of water with you everywhere you go!
- Take herbs such as dandelion root, burdock, and milk thistle and drink green tea to cleanse and protect the liver.
- Transform stress by insisting on positive emotions
- Breathe deeply so that oxygen can more fully circulate through your system.
- Sweat in a sauna, so that through transpiration your body can eliminate the waste.
- Exercising, yoga or jump-roping are fine. One hour a day. Also, try Qigong, an exercise program focused on martial arts that involve exercises primarily intended for detoxification or relaxation, as well as many other exercises with specific health benefits.
- Dry-brush your hands, or try spas/foot baths for detox foot to remove toxins through your pores. Special brushes are available in natural stores.
- Practice hydrotherapy by five minutes of taking a really hot shower, allowing the water to flow down your body. Shower for 30 seconds with cold water. Perform this three times, then step 30 minutes into bed.
- Try a complete detoxification kit supplement, which helps the body create glutathione, a compound in the liver that keeps contaminants away.
